Group Exercise schedules for 2017 are now available!
HEALTHY COOKING CLASSES
We will be holding three healthy cooking demonstration classes on:

January 25th at 10am - Soups
February 15th at 10am - Veggies
March 8th at 10am - Heart Healthy

Join in on the fun of learning wonderful healthy cooking recipes.  These classes are FREE to Union County residents as part of the Y's Senior Sunrise Wednesday activities.
Winterfest Scrapbooking Weekend

Join other scrapbooking enthusiasts for a weekend of camaraderie and fun. You'll have none of the usual distractions, letting you dedicate time to finishing a scrapbook or starting something new. You can come alone or with a group, and you are welcome regardless of your skill level.


When:  Friday, February 3rd - 1pm - 10pm

Saturday, February 4th- 10am - 10pm 

Sunday, February 5th - 10am - 5pm


Registration Fee:  $85 by 1/20/2017

$100 after 1/20/2017

Meet Lowell Nees - Interim CEO

We are pleased to report that Lowell Nees has assumed the role of Interim CEO this week. Lowell comes to us with 45 years of diverse experience in the YMCA beginning Lima, Ohio where grew up.  Lowell’s professional YMCA experience began at the Columbus Central Branch YMCA where he was Program Director for 8 years.  Lowell also served as CEO at the DeKalb County YMCA in Auburn, Indiana for 7 years and the Miami County YMCA in Piqua, Ohio for 28 years.

 

Since his retirement in 2011, Lowell has served as Interim CEO in three other YMCA’s including Springfield Family YMCA, Highland County YMCA, and Lima Family YMCA.  He also serves voluntarily as Coach in the National YMCA’s mentoring program for new CEO’s. 

 

Lowell has two adult daughters; Heidi lives with husband Mike in San Luis Obispo and is a professor at Cal Poly Institute and Heather lives with her husband Nalin in Dublin where she is a Fitness Instructor.  In his spare time, Lowell and his wife Jan enjoy spending time with family and friends on their boat in Lake Erie and Scuba Diving.

Your YMCA is in need of the following Key Volunteer Position, Volunteer Development Director. It is anticipated that a capable volunteer to assume these duties will be placed on the YMCA Board of Directors to lead the development effort with the organization.
