The Union County Family YMCA has their own volleyball club! From 5th grade to high school. You do not have to be from Marysville school to participate. Our Xcel Volleyball Club offer more tournaments than other local clubs, more gear included, free YMCA membership for the athlete, and personal training with volleyball specific workouts. We have coaches that are experienced and have played and coached at a high level.

Meet Jenny Burton
Xcel Volleyball Club Co-Director & Team Coach

139_xcel_jennyCoach Burton was born, raised and currently resides in Marysville, Ohio. She is a 2006 graduate of Fairbanks High School and a 2010 graduate of Bowling Green State University. Coach Burton played high school volleyball and club volleyball during both her high school and college years. She also served as the Vice President of the B.G.S.U Girls Club Volleyball team and then went on to be club director for a year. After graduating, Coach Burton returned to her hometown to teach in Marysville Schools and was brought on as the MHS freshman volleyball coach for the 2010 season. She has been the head volleyball coach for three seasons (2011, 2012, 2013) and has enjoyed seeing the athletes and program grow over this period of time. She is now excited to continue to help grow volleyball in Marysville and the surrounding areas through Xcel Volleyball Club!

Meet Roy Burton
Xcel Volleyball Club Co- Director & Team Coach

132_xcel_royCoach Roy is born and raised in Marysville, Ohio and is a 2002 graduate of Fairbanks High School as a well as a graduate from Wright State University. Coach Burton was a student coach with the Wright State Varsity Volleyball Team, participated with the Men’s Club team, and also student taught a P.E. Volleyball Class while attending WSU. Coach Roy started as an Assistant Freshman Coach for Marysville in 2010, moved on to coach the JV squad for two years and is currently the Varsity Assistant Coach for Marysville. In 2012, Coach Roy coached with Central Elite Volleyball Club and his teams left OVR Championships with two gold medals and a bronze in the 14U, 16U, and 17U divisions. Coach Roy is excited to get started with Xcel Volleyball Club and decorate his wall with many more medals.

Meet Carrie Moenter
Xcel Volleyball Club Team Coach

Coach Moenter was born and raised in Pemberville, Ohio, but currently resides in Marysville, Ohio. She is a 2009 graduate of Eastwood High School and a 2013 graduate of Capital University. Coach Moenter played high school volleyball and collegiate level volleyball. After graduating, Coach Moenter taught and coached at Liberty Union High School (JV-2014, Varsity 2015). In 2016, Coach Moenter moved to Marysville and currently teaches at Mechanicsburg High School. This is her second year as part of the Xcel Volleyball Club family and is excited to help instill the love and passion of volleyball! 

Meet Lyndsey DeRoads
Xcel Volleyball Club Team Coach
Lyndsey was born and raised in Milford Center and went to Fairbanks Local Schools. Lyndsey played volleyball and basketball at Fairbanks and continued to play basketball at Otterbein University. She transferred to The Ohio State University and started coaching Volleyball in 2013. She has worked with all ages and holds the JV coaching position at Fairbanks where she has been coaching for 5 years. The Fairbanks JV volleyball team has lost 1 game in the past two seasons which she feels is a great accomplishment for the school. This will be Lyndsey’s fourth year with Xcel. Last season, Lyndsey and her 14A team finished 5th in the OVR American. She is excited to be coaching for Xcel  another year and looks forward to another successful season!

Variety of age appropriate activities that promote opportunities for children to explore their environment safely and confidently.


Activities are led by assigned teachers, as well as, self directed by the child.  Creativity is encouraged to help promote individual growth.


Group and individual play. Kid Connect has activities that promote decision making skills, teach responsible behavior, and develop the child’s self confidence.
