YMCAs have been teaching people to swim for more than a century. In YMCA aquatics programs, children learn to be safe around water and they feel the sense of accomplishment that comes with learning something new.  We offer swim lessons year round, so it’s never too late to start learning.

A YMCA instructor will work one-on-one with your child to teach the skills they
need for a lifetime of aquatic safety and fun. This is a great way to give your
child the individual attention they need.

Five 45 minute lessons

    -Single child:  $200 YMCA Members   $275 Non Members

100 Mile Swim Club
100 Mile Swim Club & Mini-Miler Swim Club

 Push yourself – accomplish more with our 100-Mile Swim Club!

Begins January 15, 2024 and end December 15, 2024

Details: 
Keep track of your mileage in the 100 Mile Swim Club binder and stay motivated. 
Let the Lifeguard know when you join the 100 Mile Swim Club
3,330 laps = 100 miles
33 laps = 1 mile
Pool length = 25 yards, Pool lap = 50 yards

Mini-Miler is for ages 12 and under
50 Mile goal for Mini-Miler

Lifeguard Certification Classes

Lifeguard Classes

This course is designed to give participants the basic skills and knowledge needed to be 
lifeguards in pools and aquatic environments.  This comprehensive course offers up-to-date 
information on how to guard; anticipate and prevent problems; and to take action to help those 
in need.  CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are included in the cost of the program.

Ages: 15 and older

This is a blended course.  Participants will be required to complete about eight hours of online study/work.
*Course also includes certifications in CPR, First Aid and AED
*Must attend each day of course classes in selected month

Participants must be physically able to

*Swim-Tread-Swim – Jump feet first into the deep end of the pool and swim 150 yards (3 laps) using front crawl or backstroke only, immediately tread water for 2 minutes no hands, then swim another 50 yards (1 lap)
*Retrieve 10-pound brick from deep end of the pool (No goggles)
*Climb out of the pool without the assistance of a ladder or stairs

This course is helpful for those individuals who are interested in teaching swimming lessons. You will learn how to properly teach and evaluate students. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be certified in the instruction of swimming lessons. First Aid and CPR/AED Pro Training

First Aid and CPR/AED Pro Training Certification

Whether your job requires the training, you work with youth or you just want to get certified; this is the class for you.  
Participants will need to pre-register for class to complete the online portion. 
The online portion is done at the participant’s own pace but must be completed prior to the hands-on class. 
Participants must pre-register one week prior to the start of the hands-on training.

The Ormeroid Family Warm Pool Dedication Ceremony

On Tuesday, June 21st, the YMCA Dedicated the Warm Pool to the Ormeroid Family.  The Y is very thankful for all the hard work, dedication and countless volunteer hours the Ormeroid Family gives the YMCA.
