Assistant Swim Team Coach
The Union County Family YMCA Swim Team is growing, and we’re looking to add 
Assistant Swim Team Coaches to our coaching staff! Working alongside our 
Head Swim Coach, Assistant Coaches will help support practices, develop swimmers 
of all ages and skill levels, and create a positive team environment where athletes can grow, 
build confidence, and achieve their goals.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about swimming, enjoy working 
with youth, and want to make a meaningful impact on our growing swim program. 
Whether you have previous coaching experience or a strong competitive 
swimming background, we’d love to hear from you!

General Information:
  • Loves working with and teaching kids
  • Support daily practices by providing instruction, coaching, and feedback to swimmers of various ages and skill levels
  • Serve as a positive role model while promoting sportsmanship and YMCA values.
  • Part-time position beginning August 2026.
  • Evening availability Monday–Friday with flexibility based on practice schedules.
  • Occasional weekend availability for swim meets.
  • Competitive swimming and/or coaching experience preferred.
  • Rate of pay: $13–$15 per hour, based on experience.
  • Free YMCA Membership

Lifeguard
 
Responsible for the overall safety and well-being of those in the pool area. Variety of shifts available.    

Swim Instructors

Provide direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming classes. Experience preferred.

Personal Trainer

We are currently seeking certified Personal Trainers who want to impact lives of others and help them achieve their fitness, health and wellness goals. Personal Trainers are responsible for developing personal workout programs for YMCA members and provide YMCA members with current and accurate information regarding health and fitness.  Must be able to work flexible hours and display outstanding customer service. Certified Personal Trainers are required to have current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications and a personal training certification through one of the national organizations.

Group Exercise Instructor

Responsible for providing excellent and safe instruction, motivation, and support to YMCA members and program participants in Group Exercise programs,
and for the cleanliness and general upkeep of the group exercise area(s).
Essential Functions:
  • Leads fitness and/or related classes following YMCA standards and guidelines.
  • Communicates and enforces any rules at participants’ comprehension level.
  • Watches and corrects participants when exercising in an unsafe manner.
  • Promotes wellness and other YMCA programs.
  • Arrives 10 to 15 minutes prior to class starting in order to start assigned duties.
  • Sets up and takes down class equipment
  • Begins and ends every class on time.
  • Takes attendance of class each time class is held.
  • Ensures participants are registered appropriately.
  • Educates members and program participants on appropriate and comfortable attire for group exercise classes.
  • Teaches entire session of classes. Finds subs for sickness or vacations. Is willing to help sub for others.
  • Develops positive relationships with members and provides motivational support and guidance. 
  • Increases member and program participant awareness of healthy lifestyle factors.

Kidzone Staff
 
Interested individuals will be in charge of the direct supervision and safety of the children in
our Kidzone. Duties include but not limited to: interacting with children in a warm and
positive manner, listening, and responding to their language/communication with respect
and caring at all times. Morning and weekend shifts available with opportunities to pick up additional shifts.
